What is Reserved Seating?

Starting in Spring of 2024, instead of having separate CRNs for each class standing during priority registration week (or the first week registration is open to admitted, degree seeking students), we now have reserved seats for each class standing within a single CRN. This reduces the need for you to make sure you are selecting the CRN which matches your class standing. At the end of priority registration week, all available reserved seats will be released to a general pool for anyone of any eligible class standing.

A Different Error Message

If all the seats for your class standing are taken, you will receive an error message saying, “Reserve Closed”. If it says seats are available on the waitlist, you have the option to add yourself to the waitlist. (See Figure 1)
If it says “Reserve Closed – Waitlist Closed”, there are no seats available in the class or the waitlist at this time. (See Figure 2)

Waitlists

At the end of priority registration week, waitlisted students will be moved into available seats by order of day and time they added themselves to the waitlist. Any students still waitlisted after all available seats have been assigned will be put on the waitlist for the program as a whole, again by order of day and time they added themselves to the reserved waitlist.
Because of this, you may see your waitlist position change after priority registration.
