This is great for pieces that are very dialog heavy, or if the subjects need to move around a lot in the scenes. Using a mix of both the lav mic and the shotgun mic will give your voice tone more richness and it will sound more naturalistic. Do not forget to turn on phantom power on the Zoom H4 recorder or bring batteries for the Boom Kit, as it includes a condenser microphone.

The Beyer Dynamic Mics in General Access are great for recording interviews. They are hyper-cardioid mics that are designed to reduce handling noise while still capturing an accurate and intelligible sound.

The EV RE-27 is the nicest mic we have in General Access. It is made for Broadcast Announcers and has a cardioid pickup pattern. This dynamic microphone features great resolution and depth for voice and instruments. This is a wonderful choice for narration and voiceover. Do use a pop filter with this mic.

This option is a way to record sound that will be more directional and sensitive than the onboard audio offered by the rebel. This hyper-cardioid microphone offers very directional sound pickup and is designed for professional recording, broadcasting, film/TV/Video production. Great for capturing outdoor recordings. You cannot monitor the audio capture of the rebel, so much sure that you visually check the audio meters for your levels before recording. Make sure you have a fresh mic battery, because the Rebel cannot provide phantom power to this condenser microphone.
