How to take a screenshot on a Mac or a PC

Taking a screenshot allows you to take a photo of all or part of what is on your computer screen, and save it as a static image file.



Mac

To take a screenshot on a mac. All Mac operating systems support taking screenshots this way.

  1. Find on the keyboard the command key, the shift key, and the key for the number 4
  2. Hold command, shift and 4 at the same time
  3. Click and hold the crop tool to select what part of the screen you want to create a image file out of, and release once selected.
  4. You can find the screenshot on the desktop

Windows 10

To take a screenshot in Windows 10...

  1. Use the search bar to find the Snipping Tool
  2. Select New
  3. Drag the cursor around the area you want to capture
  4. You can edit the screenshot in the snipping tool
  5. Then select file and then save
  6. Choose where you want to save your screenshot
