Converting your project to a printer spread using InBooklet should be done just before you’re ready to print.

'''Tip:''' Remember when you’re creating a booklet Indesign will double the width of the document to fit two facing pages. If you’re final booklet prints to letter size (8.5” x 11”) you should set up your original layout spread for each page to be letter-half (5.5” x 8.5”).

===Create a printer spread===
From your completed InDesign layout spread:
#Choose '''File >Print Booklet'''
#To convert the entire spread choose '''All''', otherwise you can specify a range
#Choose a Booklet Type or binding style. 2-up Saddle Stitch works great for a 1/2 page folded and stapled
#Margins: Choose Automatically Adjust...
#Click '''Print Settings'''

===Page Setup to print in the Computer Center===
#From the Print window choose '''Page Setup''' (lower left corner) and click OK at the Warning box
#Choose AC_Laser on Pozette from the Format For drop down box (this SHOULD NOT say Any Printer)
#Set the page orientation to landscape
#Click '''OK''' to apply those changes
#From the large Print window choose '''Setup''' from the left-hand column options (it's listed under "General")
#From the Paper size drop down choose '''Defined by Driver'''

===Set up duplexing===
#From the larger print window select the Printer button at the bottom of the window and click '''OK''' at the Warning box
#Choose AC_LASER on pozette from the smaller Print window
#Click expansion triangle to display more options
#Select '''Layout''' from the drop-down menu
#Choose '''Short Edge Binding'''
#Click the '''Print''' to apply the changes
#From the larger Print window hit '''OK''' and then '''Print''' from the Print Booklet window to send your job to the printer
#A small percentage of Comcast users may encounter issues with Comcast’s DNS servers.If you are a Comcast user and are still unable to connect:
#*Connecting through a router? Try connecting directly to your modem instead and see if you are able to connect.
#*If this works you can choose to do bypass your router when you need to chat or if you want to continue to use your router follow the next step to change your local DNS.
#*Change your network settings to point to Google's DNS server instead of Comcast. Follow closely the instructions [http://code.google.com/speed/public-dns/docs/using.html located here]. ===<font color="Red">Still having problems connecting?</font>===
We have identified a solution for Comcast users that are experiencing problems with chat. Comcast’s DNS servers may be causing some students to not be able to connect to Evergreen’s chat server. There is unfortunately, nothing we can do on our end to correct this, and Comcast is aware of the problem. Students who are experiencing this problem can change their network settings to use a different DNS server. We are recommending students use Google Public DNS. Details and instructions on how to configure your computer to use Google DNS are [http://code.google.com/speed/public-dns/docs/using.html located here].

__NOTOC__
[[image:networkfolder.jpg | left]]
Network file space is a protected folder on the network which is available to all Evergreen staff and faculty by default, and for students upon enrolling in a class.

Student shares created this way are located on a server called Orca. Orca replaces the servers Calawah & Masu.

Faculty and staff will continue to use network file space on the server Hurricane.

If you are a student in the Media Arts, you may also have filespace available on Nimrod. Space on this server is available only through your academic program.

===Why use it?===
*The floppy disk in your back pack will quit working some day.
*You will inevitably lose your thumbdrive (flashdrive) somewhere.
*If your hard drive stops working, you might not be able to extract your files from it.
*Evergreen's servers are backed up ''every 24 hours'', which means your data is '''safe'''.
*Files saved on servers are accessible from all campus computers. You can also access them from home using the secure [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WebDAV WebDAV] protocol.

===The Servers===
*'''Hurricane''' is the primary file server for Faculty & Staff personal file shares as well as staff work areas. For additional help with hurricane filespace, or to request a new fileshare on Hurricane, please contact [http://www.evergreen.edu/support/ Technical Support Services] at 867-6627.
*'''Orca''' is the primary file server for academic resources. This server hosts academic program shares, individual student shares (generated automatically), academic workgroups and research shares. For questions about or requests concerning Orca, please contact [http://rails.evergreen.edu/contact/?site=ac-computing-help&recipient=acadcomphelp&tt=true&subject=Email%20from%20the%20Fileshare%20Help%20Wiki Academic Computing].
*'''Nimrod''' is the primary fileserver for students and faculty in the media arts. Nimrod is not backed up or available off campus. For help with this resource, contact the folks at [http://www.evergreen.edu/scripts/contact.asp?sm=emsoftware&sub=NimrodSite&title=Contact%20Electronic%20Media Electronic Media].
