Apply Cell Shading

You can add shading to cells by filling them with solid colors or patterns. You can remove cell shading if you no longer need it. To apply or remove shading, simply select the cell that you would like to shade, go to the "home" tab in the "font" group then either click "fill color" and select the color you prefer on the palette or if you desire simply apply the most recently selected color by clicking "fill color."
To fill cells with patterns select the cell that you want to fill with a pattern and in the home tab click "dialog box launcher" and then click the "fill" tab. Under "background color" click the background color that you want to use. Now to use a pattern with two colors click another color in the "pattern color" box and then click a pattern style in the "pattern style" box. But if you want to use a pattern with special effects click "fill effects" and then click the options that you want on the "gradient" tab.
To remove cell shading select the desired cell and on the "home" tab in the "font" group click the arrow next to "fill color" and then click "no fill."

Expanding/Collapsing Text

Cradav01: By using the formatting palette you can expand and collapse your text under the font sub option

After inserting a text box to your power point by clicking inside it you are now able to type. After any text has been entered you can now edit it by using the formatting palette. This floating window allows you to expand and collapse your text by using a scrollable list of text sizes as well as a sliding bar to the right of the word "size". Both of these tools can be used to expand and collapse your text.
