<div class="intro">[[File:Imovielogo.png |left|75px]] Cropping and Rotating Video using the iMovie "Crop" tool is an important addition to your editing toolkit when compiling a professional, high quality video presentation.</div>

To crop an individual clip, click it and select the crop button, which appears as two intersecting L curves forming a square. This will trigger a selection reticule, which will appear over the main image displaying the current frame of video. You can then click and drag the selection reticule as if you were cropping a photo, allowing you to decide what elements of the clip you wish to crop from view.

To reframe or center the video after cropping, just select and drag the reticule by clicking near the cross in the center.

If you need to rotate the video, simply click the “Rotate Image” buttons, which appear as two turning arrows.

To test your effects, press the “Play Clip” button, which appears as a right facing triangle between two lines. This allows you to troubleshoot and experiment with multiple video options before incorporating them into your iMovie project.

Remember, if you want to go back and edit your cropping and rotations later, iMovie saves the original video structure as well, allowing you to reset or adjust your settings in the same interface. Just select the pre-edited clip and select “Crop”.

*These instructions are for the current version of iMovie running on all ACC desktop images.

====When to Use This====
# When you need to adjust the size or focal point of a video shot or entire clip
# When you need to rotate a video shot or entire clip.
# When you need to troubleshoot effects and editing procedure.

Did you know that in addition to your basic text options, like changing the font, size, spacing and color, PowerPoint offers WordArt. To make Word Art you can either click "Insert" and then "WordArt" to make a new text box or apply it to a text box you are working on by simply selecting the text box and clicking on "Drawing Tools" and then on the "Format" tab of the ribbon. The WordArt "Styles" section is where you can apply the pre-created styles to your text. After choosing a style if you want to change the color of the text just select the "Text Fill" and or "Text Outline" options located just to the right of the "Styles". You can further customize your text by choosing one or more "Text Effects".

Play around with the different options to find out what works best. Make sure to view your presentation as a slideshow before you present to make sure that the text is easy to read. Try not to overdo it with WordArt because it can take away from important information in your presentation by distracting the audience.

====When to Use This====
# Used properly WordArt can increase the aesthetic quality of your presentation.
# WordArt can make your text and titles more visible and accentuate important ideas.
