Zoom has a feature where Hosts can enable up to 20 participants to be language interpreters for a meeting.
Important Notes
- Language Interpretation needs to be enabled in the Host's account before they can add it to a meeting.
- Language Interpretation needs to be added to a meeting before the meeting is started.
- Language Interpretation cannot be used with Personal Meeting IDs.
- Language Interpretation cannot be used in breakout rooms.
- Language Interpretation cannot be added to a meeting when scheduling via Canvas.
- Schedule the meeting via Canvas and then go to evergreen.zoom.us and add it to the meeting.
Enabling Language Interpretation
- By default, Language Interpretation is turned off for all users.
- Hosts need to enable Language Interpretation for their account before they can add it to a meeting
- Go to evergreen.zoom.us and sign in with your Evergreen account
- In the navigation panel, click Settings.
- Click the Meeting tab.
- Under In Meeting (Advanced), click the Language Interpretation toggle to enable or disable it.
Using Language Interpretation with Canvas
- When scheduling a meeting via Canvas the Language Interpretation checkbox is not available.
- Schedule the meeting via Canvas and then go to evergreen.zoom.us and add it to the meeting.
- Schedule a meeting via a Canvas site
- Go to evergreen.zoom.us
- Find the meeting
- Click Edit
- For a recurring meeting make sure to select Edit Entire Series.
- Check the Language Interpretation box
