The Conversion Station has an Elgato Video Capture usb convertor. There is a DVD player and a VHS deck connected to an input select box which is connected to the convertor. There is also a S-Video cable and 2 audio cables connected to the Aux input on the input select box.
Recording Set Up
- Select VCR, DVD or Aux on the input select box.
- Turn on the VCR or DVD Player as needed and load the disc or tape.
Elgato Video Capture
- Open Elgato Video Capture.
- Enter the name for the video.
- Select the approximate length of the video.
- You can manually stop the recording whenever it is done.
- Click Continue.
- Select S-Video.
- Select the Aspect Ratio
- Most recording should be 4:3 but some DVD's could be 16:9.
- Click Continue.
- Play the recording to check for audio signal.
- Click Continue
- Uncheck "Automatically stop recording after x minutes"
- Click the Start Recording button.
- When done click the Stop Recording button
Saving
- Play the video to check the recording.
- Adjust the start and end points to trim the video if needed.
- Click Continue
- The video will be saved to your Home folder in the Movies folder
- Click Again or Quit
