Getting Ready

Power

  1. Turn on power strip
  2. Start the computer
  3. Turn on the projector (Back right)
  4. Log into computer

Cleaning

  1. Open StCamSWare from the desktop
  2. Turn projector to Still to turn on the light.
  3. Look at StCamSWare and if the image is dirty you need to clean the projector.
  4. Pull the light away from the projector and clean with canned air.

Settings

  1. In StCamSWare go to Option > Settings and a new window will open.
  2. Click the Advanced button in the bottom right. If the bottom right button is "Simple" than you are already in the Advanced window.
  3. Go to the Trigger tab and configure the following settings.
    • Operation Mode : Trigger
    • Trigger Source : Hardware
    • Trigger Mode : Edge Preset
  4. Go to the IO tab and configure the following settings.
    • I00 : Trigger Input [10]
    • Polarity : Negative
    • Trigger Mode : Edge Preset

Threading the Projector

  1. Make sure that you have 4ft of leader to the heads and tail of the film.
  2. Push the autoloader
  3. Trim the film if needed.
  4. Put the film on the supply reel arm.
  5. Set projector to Forward and insert the film.
  6. When there is enough film to thread turn off the projector and thread onto the take up reel.
  7. Pull the film to make sure the autoloader is off.

Capturing

  1. Go to Capture > Video Capture.
  2. Browse to the desktop
  3. Give the file a name and click Save.
  4. The Record Setting window will open. Configure the following settings:
    • Compressor : Motion JPEG
    • Quality : 75
    • Frame Count : Leave the slider at the right side.
  5. Click ok and start the projector.
  6. When the film is done turn the projector off.
  7. Click the X in the top right of the window to stop the recording.
  • You can open the file in VLC to watch it but the motion will be a little fast.
  • You might need to record multiple passes with different exposure settings.

Rewinding

  1. Thread the film straight across the top of the projector.
  2. Set the projector to Reverse and press the Rewind button on the projector.
