Aperture is a powerful tool to organize and edit your photos. It is currently only available for the Mac OS. Aperture can import photos and libraries from iPhoto. It also interfaces with iLife and iWork applications, such as iMovie, Keynote, and Garageband for seamless multimedia production. This application is for sophisticated editing by professionals and is capable of cropping photos, color correction, photo effects, redeye removal and much more.

Apple has a number of excellent, brief video tutorials that can get you started with Aperture quickly. You can also learn more about Aperture at Lynda.com, by using one of our checkout accounts for Evergreen Students. Please call the Computer Center front desk for assistance (360-867-6227).

Aperture is not currently available at the Evergreen State College. An alternative, cross-platform image editor is Adobe Photoshop CS5 (PC or Mac). For more basic editing, we recommend Apple's iPhoto (Mac only). For simple editing or resizing of individual photos or graphics, try Preview (Mac only).
