Change Input Language

How to change a computer's settings so you may input text using different languages.

Windows XP

  1. Navigate to the Control Panel, then select Regions & Language.
  2. Select the tab titled Keyboards and Languages, then click Change Keyboards.
  3. Click Add, then find the language that you want to use.
  4. Click the + signs to expand the information for that language. Then check the boxes next to the languages that you want to use.
  5. Select OK in all three windows to accept changes and exit the menu.
  6. To toggle between languages now, click on the capitalized two-letter abbreviation (example: EN for English) that is located by your quick-start buttons on the bottom right of your screen.

Mac OS X

  1. Select System Preferences, then Language & Text.
  2. Select the tab titled Input Sources.
  3. Find the language that you would like to add and check the box next to it. Exit the window.
  4. To toggle between languages now, click on the flag icon at the top of your screen on the right-hand side of your menu bar.
