On-Campus Access

  1. From the Finder menu, select Go > Connect to Server.
  2. Type smb://yourserver in the field.
    • smb://hurricane for faculty and staff or
    • smb://orca for academic file shares (programs, groups, research, student)
  3. Click OK
  4. Log in with your Evergreen account.
  5. Select the folder you want to connect to
    • Hurricane users - select the first letter of your last name, or workgroup share
    • Orca users - select programs (for academic programs), groups, research, student
  6. Click OK
  7. Click OK
  8. A network connection icon Blue mac network icon.png is mounted on the desktop.
  9. To disconnect, drag the "globe" to the trash (or disconnect icon) on the dock.

Off-Campus Access

If you have Mac OS 10.4 or greater you should be able to easily connect from off campus as well.

  1. On the Finder menu, select Go > Connect to Server.
  2. Enter the URL of the file server you want to connect to
  3. Click OK
  4. Log in with your Evergreen account.
  5. Select the folder you'd like to connect to (e.g. the first letter of your last name, or the name of your program or group).
  6. Click OK
  7. Click OK
  8. A network connection icon Blue mac network icon.png is mounted on the desktop.
  9. To disconnect, drag the "globe" to the trash/disconnect icon on the doc.
