Research file space on Orca

Hurricane is the Faculty and Staff file server.

On-Campus Access to Orca

  1. On the Finder menu, select Go > Connect to Server.
  2. Type smb://orca/programs in the field.
  3. Click OK
  4. Log in with your Evergreen account.
  5. Click OK
  6. A network connection icon Mac network icon.png is mounted on the desktop.
  7. To disconnect, drag the "globe" to the trash can on the taskbar.

Off-Campus Access to Orca Programs

If you have Mac OS 10.4 or greater you should be able to easily connect from off campus as well.

  1. In a web browser (Firefox) go to https://myfiles.evergreen.edu/academics/programs
  2. Crtl-click or right click on the folder that you want and copy the link.
  3. On the Finder menu, select Go > Connect to Server.
  4. Paste the link you copied in the above step in the field. Note: you can also access this space from a web browser but you will not be able to write files back to the server only read.
  5. Click OK
  6. Log in with your Evergreen account.
  7. Select the folder you'd like to conect to (e.g. the first letter of your last name).
  8. Click OK
  9. A network connection icon Mac network icon.png is mounted on the desktop.
  10. To disconnect, drag the "globe" to the trash can on the taskbar.
