The error 4960 generated by iMovie when attempting to import photos from iPhoto is caused by the project file being saved in an area where the user does not have the proper permissions to "read and write" files.

To remedy this make sure you save your project in an area where you have full rights to modify files (read and write).

A suitable place to temporarily save your project would be the drive entitled Deleted Nightly which can be found on the desktop of both the Windows and Macintosh computers in the lab.
