Audacity can import a variety of audio formats. If your file does not import, try converting it to a more standard audio format such as .wav, .aiff or .mp3.

To import an audio file

  1. Go File > Import > Audio
  2. Select one or more audio files by browsing your computer
  3. Click open and the file will be imported onto its own track
