The forum is an activity where students and teachers can exchange ideas by posting comments. Within the forum you can start new discussions, respond to peers, and upload content using File Picker.

Forum View - In moodle, you have the option of displaying the current forum that you are viewing in four different ways.

  1. Flat Oldest First - This view arranges the forum to be symmetrical (flat) listing the oldest posts at the top of the forum.
  2. Flat Newest First - This view arranges the forum exactly like the previous method, with the newest posts at the top of the forum.
  3. Threaded - The threaded view will list replies in a cascading format (from left to right), and displays the user's name and a time stamp of when they replied.
  4. Nested - This view arranges the forum much like threaded, but displays the entire post, instead of the user's name and time stamp.
