Create a Project

  1. Launch iMovie
  2. In the Project Library select the Local Work drive and click the plus symbol to add a project and name it descriptively
  3. Select NO THEME, aspect ratio (standard or widescreen) and click create

Add Still Images

TIFF and JPEG formatted images are recommended

  1. Copy all images to the desktop
  2. Click and drag each image into the iMovie project window. A green line signifies where it will be placed in the timeline with a default duration of 4 seconds.

Add Audio

.wav or .aiff files are recommended

  1. Copy all audio files to the desktop
  2. Click and drag the audio file into the iMovie project window:
    • To add the audio file to the entire project drag and drop into the open gray area - the entire project screen will turn green.
    • To add audio at a specific point in time click and drag the file over a still image clip - a single green line will extend as long as the legnth of the clip.

Export a File

  1. From the top menu Share & Export Movie
  2. For the highest quality select the largest file size available, label this with your name, and save to the Desktop
  3. Connect to Orca File Space Overview and save a copy in your Cubby

Create a DVD

  1. From the top menu Go to Share > iDVD
  2. In iDVD select a menu style and change any labeling to suite your project description
  3. When you are done go to File > Burn DVD
  4. The DVD drive will open asking for writeable disc (DVD +R, and DVD -R are acceptable formats) DO NOT USE RW DISCS
  5. Close the DVD drive and test before leaving
