The Commons
The commons is an unscheduled computing area which sports over 50 computers running Mac OSX, Windows XP or Ubuntu Linux. There are also a number of specialty stations for students to explore, including;
Computer Classrooms
The Computer Center has four separate teaching spaces. Please check our schedule if you need to schedule time in one of them for your program. If you need to reserve space in one of the computer classrooms, contact John McGee at extension 6108.
- GC1 Grotto
- The Grotto is a general PC access classroom which runs Windows XP and provides standard software packages like Microsoft Office and 4 web browsers in addition to Dreamweaver, Acrobat, Flash, and Photoshop. The Grotto consists of 26 Gateway Pentium IV computers and 1 scanner.
- GC2 Solarium
- The Solarium is also a general PC access classroom which runs Windows XP and provides standard software packages like Microsoft Office and 4 web browsers in addition to Dreamweaver, Acrobat, Flash, and Photoshop. The Solarium consists of 26 Gateway Pentium IV computers and 2 scanners.
- Mac Lounge
- The Mac Lounge consists of 26 iMac 1.25ghz computers (with 20" LCD screens) and 3 scanners. The Mac classroom runs on OS 10.4 and provides standard software packages like Microsoft Office and 4 web browsers in addition to Dreamweaver, Final Cut Pro, InDesign, Acrobat, Flash, and Photoshop.
- Advanced Computing
- Advanced Computing is a limited access classroom reserved for students enrolled in computer science programs. In addition to many of the offerings of the GCC, the ACC also provides several software development packages, and all 25 Gateway Pentium IV systems are configured to run both Windows XP and Linux.
