Input Monitoring
- The MON button on inputs 1 and 2 sends the input signal directly to the outputs for low latency monitoring.
- Use the Input Monitor Mix knob to adjust the mix between the direct input signals and the output of the computer playback.
- Turn all the way to the left for input only.
- Turn all the way to the right for playback only.
Speaker Levels
The Monitor knob on the MOTU 4 adjust the speaker levels.
- Start with the Monitor level down
- The big knob is turned all the way to the left
- Use the Input Monitor Mix knob to adjust the mix between the direct input signals and the output of the computer playback.
- Start playing sound in an application or get signal on a microphone.
- Slowly turn the Monitor knob to the right to increase the volume.
Headphone Levels
The MOTU M4 headphone output is connected to a 4 channel headphone amp.
- There is a small headphone volume knob above the headphone jack on the MOTU M4.
- Set the MOTU M4 headphone knob to 2:00.
- Turn the Monitor level down.
- The big knob is turned all the way to the left
- Set the MOTU M4 headphone knob to 2:00.
- Turn down the headphone levels on the 4 knobs on the headphone amp.
- Connect headphones to the headphone amp.
- Use the Input Monitor Mix knob to adjust the mix between the direct input signals and the output of the computer playback.
- Start playing sound in an application or get signal on a microphone.
- Slowly turn the headphone amp volume knob to the right to increase the volume.
