When recording directly to an SD card on the Mixcast, all sources are recorded to one Polywav file. The 14 channels appear in a slightly different within the Polywav file compared to when using the Mixcast as a USB audio interface. The 14 layers within the Mixcast are:

In general, the inputs of the Mixcast appear in the order they appear on the faders, but when used as a USB audio interface the main output will appear on channels 1 and 2, whereas the main mix appears on channels 13 and 14 of a Polywav file that the Mixcast can record independently.

As a USB audio interface, the Mixcast can receive 2 outputs from the computer. The main output of the computer, whether that is sound playing out of a web browser, the output of a Zoom call, or the main mix output of a DAW, comes back to the Mixcast on the USB channel (a stereo channel, one fader for both left and right). This output can be listened to on headphones or the speakers at the computer desk.
