*Open your preferred DAW (Digital Performer).

*Record using inputs 1 and inputs 2 from the Motu 828 soundcard on the desk.

Process

Operational Proficiency

  1. Make sure Monitor knob on the MOTU M4 is all the way down.
  2. Turn on the power strip on the computer desk.
  3. Turn on the computer.
  4. Open your preferred DAW.
  5. Save your project in a folder on the desktop.
  6. Set up a microphone and set recording levels.
  7. Set headphone levels.
  8. Record a microphone in the DAW.
    • Make sure to mute the input channel you are recording to.
    • This will prevent latency in your monitoring path.
  9. Playback the recording
  10. Record an overdub onto another track.
  11. Playback both tracks though the speakers.
  12. Save the project and quit the application.
  13. Please normalize the room and vacuum if necessary.
  14. Log out and report any problems.
  15. Shut down computer and shut off the power strip on the computer desk.
  16. Make sure to pull the door shut and make sure it's locked.
