Listening to Computer Output via USB Channel
The Mixcast 4 has a stereo channel dedicated to the output of the Mac Studio. This channel's fader is labeled with a USB symbol. When this fader is up, audio playing out of the computer will come through this channel to the headphones on the Mixcast as well as to the Mackie Big Knob via the Mixcast's Monitor Output.
CAUTION: when using a DAW like Pro Tools, Ableton Live, or Reaper, the USB channel of the Mixcast is also available as an input source. It is possible to "Input Monitor" within a DAW, which can cause loud audio feedback that could possibly damage your hearing or equipment in the studio. It is best to make sure that input monitoring is not engaged on the USB track if that track is present in the DAW.
