WordArt is a fun and easy way to make your text more vibrant and exciting.

Did you know that in addition to your basic text options, like changing the font, size, spacing and color, PowerPoint offers WordArt. To make Word Art you can either click "Insert" and then "WordArt" to make a new text box or apply it to a text box you are working on by simply selecting the text box and clicking on "Drawing Tools" and then on the "Format" tab of the ribbon. The WordArt "Styles" section is where you can apply the pre-created styles to your text. After choosing a style if you want to change the color of the text just select the "Text Fill" and or "Text Outline" options located just to the right of the "Styles". You can further customize your text by choosing one or more "Text Effects".

Play around with the different options to find out what works best. Make sure to view your presentation as a slideshow before you present to make sure that the text is easy to read. Try not to overdo it with WordArt because it can take away from important information in your presentation by distracting the audience.

When to Use This

  1. Used properly WordArt can increase the aesthetic quality of your presentation.
  2. WordArt can make your text and titles more visible and accentuate important ideas.
