CARE

The GoPro Hero 4 is an extremely durable camera, however there are precautions you need to take: - Keep the plastic camera housing on the camera during all filming. - Make sure the rubber lining of the housing is completely clean before exposing the camera to water. - Make sure the locking bolt is always secured tightly. - Do not turn on the camera if it is wet. - Do not expose the battery to rain or snow. - Do not drop this camera from considerable heights or hit it with a heavy object.

Cleaning the housing: Rinse in fresh water and shake dry or let air dry. Do not dry with a cloth, lint to compromise the seal. If the seal is broken, water may leak through and permanently damage the camera. Re-install the seal into the grooves in the backdoor of the camera housing.

It has multiple modes: -Playback -Video -Photo -Multi-shot -Set up

PLAYBACK MODE

Access playback mode by swiping left on the screen and selecting playback, OR pressing the Mode/Power button and selecting playback with the Shutter/Select button.

You can select videos to watch by simply tapping them, OR using the Mode/Power button to cycle through the clips, selecting them with the Shutter/Select button.

When you have selected a video to watch you will see four icons on the bottom of the screen. -The Delete icon will delete the selected video -The Play/ Pause icon will pause the video, giving you the option to choose which frame to stop on. -The Scissors icon allows you to create a short clip from your video. This does not affect the original footage. The clip will be saved as a new file.

To exit Playback mode, tap the X in the top right hand corner.

VIDEO MODE

Swipe left on the screen and select Video Mode. To Capture video simply press the Shutter/ Select Button. If you need to select one of the different capturing modes, swipe up to go into Settings and select Mode.

Video Mode contains 4 different Capturing Modes: Time Lapse mode creates video from frames captured at specific intervals. It is available only in 4K and 2.7K 4:3 resolutions and is captured without audio. Photo+Video will capture a photo at selected intervals while you record video. Looping lets you continuously record but only save select moments. Available intervals for Looping are 5, 20, 60 and 120 minutes. Only the most recent interval (ex: 5 minutes) is saved when you stop recording. If you record for an interval and do not press the Shutter/Select button to stop recording and save, the camera begins a new interval by recording over your previous footage. If you select Max Video as the interval, the camera records until the memory card is full, then overwrites the content. Monitor your footage carefully in looping mode!

Intervals Only apply to Time Lapse and Video, Video + Photo, and Looping. Interval determines the amount of time that passes between each captured frame.

Resolutions To change the resolution, swipe up to open the Settings and select Resolution.

Resolution correlates to the amount of pixels and frame rate of your footage. There are a few factors that will go into deciding which resolution you would like to film at (e.g. how much space is available on your memory card, what you will be filming.)This camera is capable of filming at nine different resolutions- each one has its own practical usage.Make sure to pick a resolution that fits the aspect ratio of your tv or computer. Keep in mind that the higher the resolution, the more room it will take up on your memory card. (FOV- Field of Vision) 4K: Ultra Wide FOV. Recommended for tripod mounted/ still video. Performs well even in low light. 2.7K: Ultra Wide & Medium FOV. Recommended for cinematic shots. 1440p: Ultra Wide. Recommended for body-mounted shots, and high action shots because of the high frame rate and very large field of view. 1080p: Ultra Wide, Medium, and Narrow (reduced distortion) FOV. Versatile and good for everything. 1080p SuperView: Extremely Wide FOV. Recommended for body-or gear-mounted shots. Vertical 4:3 content is automatically stretched to full-screen 16:9 for widescreen playback. 1920x1080 960p: Ultra Wide FOV. Use for slow motion shots on a body-mount. 720p: Ultra Wide FOV. Use for slow motion shots while hand-held. 720p Superview: Extremely wide FOV. Recommended for body-or gear-mounted shots. Vertical 4:3 content is automatically stretched to full-screen 16:9 for widescreen playback. Lower resolution than 1080p Superview. WVGA: Ultra Wide FOV. Standard definition, 840x480. Good for slow motion when very high resolution is not desired or necessary. Make sure to pick a resolution that fits the aspect ratio of your tv or computer.

PHOTO MODE
