[hide]Getting Started with Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
To enhance the security of your account, we are starting to require all users to set up Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA). MFA provides an additional layer of protection by verifying your identity through multiple methods. If your account requires MFA here are your options.
MFA Options Available
Microsoft Authenticator App (Recommended)
- A secure and seamless option that uses your smartphone to approve sign-ins with a notification or a one-time passcode.
- We do not support other authenticator apps besides the Microsoft Authenticator App and will not be able to assist you with them.
- Can be set up off-campus.
Phone (SMS or Voice Call)
- Receive a verification code via text message or a phone call.
- Can also be set up off-campus.
Hardware Token
- A physical device we issue that generates a one-time passcode.
- Requires you to visit the campus to receive and set up the token.

Choose your preferred method. We strongly recommend using the Microsoft Authenticator App for its security and convenience. If you wish to choose an option other than the Authenticator App click on the link "I want to setup a different option".
