Theme settings can be found under the Format option in the menu bar in Microsoft PowerPoint 2008. To select a preset theme from the gallery, select the from gallery option. Microsoft PowerPoint 2008 has six pages of presets to choose from. When you select a theme, it will apply to your slideshow. To change that theme, select another from the gallery. A theme will apply to all slides in a slideshow. To get rid of your theme, choose the blank theme from the gallery. To import a theme from a file, search your computer and select the file then proceed to apply/import. To customize the color scheme of your selected theme, go to the theme colors option under format in the menu bar. Double-click the color block next to the option you would like to customize in the theme colors options box, and scroll through the color wheel to find what you want to change. To apply changes, click the apply to all button in the bottom right corner of the options box.

When to Use This

  1. To make your slideshow feel more elaborate and complete
  2. Catch the interest of your audience
  3. To add style and color to your slideshow
