Contents
Intro
Students in academic programs using the Design Lab can access the room outside of class and with approval during extended late night hours when the exterior doors are locked.
Access During Class Times
- When classes are scheduled in the Design Lab the elevator can be used to get to the Design Lab on the 4th floor.
- 4th floor access from the elevator is turned of when there are no class times scheduled.
Access During Building Hours
Key Lockbox
- There is a lockbox on the top of the stairs leading to the Design Lab.
- Students can get the current code to the lock box from their faculty
- The lockbox contains a key to open the door to the design lab.
Access After Hours
Late Night Access
- To use the Design Lab after regular hours students need to be approved for Late Night Access
- Students need to complete the Late Night Access module in the Media Proficiencies Canvas course.
- Late Night Access approval is good for one academic year.
- Student need to completer the module every year.
Exterior Door Access
- Students in programs using the Design Lab and who have Late Night Access approval can check out a door fob from Media Loan if they need to enter the building when the exterior doors are locked.
- They are not allowed to use the lab on any days past 10pm.
- There is no access to the Com Building on Sundays .
Design Lab Access
- Students can use the key from the lock box to enter the design lab from the stairs.
- If a student needs to use the elevator to access the space they can checkout a elevator key from Media Loan when checking out the exterior door fob.
Building Hours
- The exterior door hours are posted on the outside of the building and on the Com Building page.
- Please make sure there is no academic programs are using the space. You can do this by checking Schedule Evergreen.
- They are not allowed to use the lab on any days past 10pm.
- There is no access to the Com Building on Sundays .
