iMovie is a consumer grade desktop video editing application that is currently only available for Apple computers. iMovie interfaces with iPhoto, iTunes, and iDVD for seamless multimedia production. This application is relatively easy to use and is capable of working with basic video editing including adding transitions, working with multiple audio tracks, and adding limited titles and effects.
Apple has a number of excellent, brief video tutorials that can get you started with iMovie quickly. You can also learn more about iMovie at Lynda.com, by using one of our checkout accounts for Evergreen Students. Please call the Computer Center front desk for assistance (360-867-6227).
For more advanced editing, we recommend using Final Cut Pro.
