This guide is for all Evergreen users. It includes directions for locating past (older/concluded) Canvas sites, why links to Canvas sites are removed from My Evergreen, and how faculty can request edit access to a concluded site.

Your full list of Canvas sites is available at your Canvas "All Courses" page

Any Canvas sites you are an owner or member of will be available in your list as long as:

  1. You have the same active Evergreen account you did when you became a member of the site.
  2. And the faculty or site owner hasn't closed the site. (For details, see section at this page, "Why is my Canvas site no longer showing at My Evergreen or my Canvas Dashboard?")

Ways to access the Canvas "All Courses" page

  1. click on "Courses" or the book icon
  2. in the slide-out window, click on the "All Courses" link at top to open to the "All Courses" page and list of current and past sites

Where can I find my past Canvas site?

  • Links to your past (closed/concluded) Canvas sites are available at your Canvas "All Courses" page, under the "Past Enrollments" section (scroll down towards bottom of the page).
  • Content availability at closed/concluded sites is "read-access" only, meaning, you should be able to view and download most content at the site but will not be able to interact with (e.g. edit, change, add to, post at, submit to) discussions, assignments, or quizzes.

Notes

Why is my Canvas site no longer showing at My Evergreen or my Canvas Dashboard?

  • After an offering (program/course) has completed, the Canvas site associated with the offering is concluded (per an automated schedule) around Week 9 of the following quarter.
    • For example, Fall sites conclude towards the end of Winter quarter, Winter quarter sites conclude towards the end of Spring quarter, etc.
  • When a Canvas site is concluded, its link is removed from My Evergreen.
  • If site access is closed by the site owner/faculty/instructor, the Canvas course will also be removed from your Canvas Dashboard, canvas.evergreen.edu, and All Courses page, canvas.evergreen.edu/courses.
  • If you are seeing older Canvas sites still listed at your My Evergreen page - this is a known issue that may be resolved with a future update (to be announced).

Faculty: How to request interactive access to a concluded site

If you are not able to edit content or view student submission data at a past Canvas site, it may be a concluded site. To have the site un-concluded for interactive access, please submit a support request at help.evergreen.edu and include the following information:

  • site info: title, term and year, URL/link
  • that you need the site un-concluded (re-opened for interactive access) and brief description of purpose (examples: to complete evals, access student assignment submission data, etc)
  • if you need access to student data, then student enrollments at the site will need to be manually restored - please indicate whether you need enrollment restored for
    • all students
    • or specific students (please provide names and Evergreen emails or "A" numbers)

Evergreen's Canvas auto-conclude process

  1. initially concludes sites one quarter after the previous quarter's offerings have concluded (example: Fall sites are closed around Week 9 of Winter quarter)
  2. and then runs weekly on Tuesday mornings
