Microsoft Copilot with Data Protection is an institutionally scoped AI-powered assistant and generative AI tool that ensures data privacy and security.

Accessing Copilot with Data Protection

Evergreen students and employees can access Copilot at m365.cloud.microsoft/chat

Make sure to log in to Copilot with your My Evergreen account. To verify you are logged in, look for the shield icon.

Why use Copilot with Data Protection?

Enhanced Efficiency

Copilot streamlines tasks, whether generating content, analyzing data, summarizing documents, or writing code. Plus, every response is accompanied by sources so you know exactly where the information is coming from. Be sure to review the citations for generated responses.

Enterprise Data Protection (EDP)

Copilot with Enterprise Data Protection prioritizes security. Chat data is not saved and remains inaccessible to Microsoft or other large language models for training purposes. Your privacy and Evergreen's data are safeguarded.

Chat History Retention

Under Enterprise Data Protection (EDP), chat history is saved and retrievable for authenticated users.

Identity Protection

Copilot uses your work or school account for authentication, ensuring that only authorized users can access it. Your identity remains protected, and Copilot cannot access your Microsoft 365 files. You can, however, attach/upload files directly or reference shared OneDrive/SharePoint content within sessions grounded by Enterprise Data Protection.

No Training on Chat Data
