Requesting a Team
Staff
Most staff work areas already have a Team available for use.
- If you need an additional Team created, please submit a Microsoft Teams Request.
- For questions about Teams, please submit a Technology Support Request.
Faculty
As of June 2025, Microsoft is developing a replacement for the existing Teams Class Canvas integration. Until the replacement is available, Teams will need to be requested so we can manually provision one for your program/course.
- The current ability to create a Team via your Canvas site has been deprecated (is no longer being supported) meaning no new Teams may be initiated through Canvas until the new tool is in place. We don't have an exact e.t.a. on when the new version will be available, though Microsoft plans to provide a preview by July 2025.
- Work-around in meantime - faculty wishing to use Teams can request to have one manually created and we can help connect this Team to your Canvas site.
Students
We currently do not support creating Teams for students. Please work with your faculty to connect a Team to your Canvas course.
