Automatically Shorten Outlook Calendar Events to Create Breaks Between Meetings.

Back-to-back meetings can be mentally exhausting and reduce productivity. Microsoft Outlook now offers a feature that helps users schedule automatic breaks between meetings by shortening event durations. This small change can significantly improve focus, reduce stress, and enhance engagement.

What This Feature Does

When enabled, Outlook will automatically shorten meetings you schedule by a few minutes. For example:

  • A 30-minute meeting might be scheduled for 25 minutes
  • A 60-minute meeting might be scheduled for 50 minutes

This creates buffer time between meetings, helping you transition, take a breath, or prepare for the next session.

How to Enable Automatic Meeting Shortening
