Best Practices and Privacy Reminders

When choosing to use the AI Companion for your class, it's important to consider how AI usage will impact learning, privacy, accessibility, and the preservation of meaningful human interaction.

  • Inform Participants: When you turn on an AI Companion feature during a live meeting, an icon and notice will appear at the top of the window notifying attendees that AI tools are active.
  • Recording and FERPA: Meeting summaries rely on real-time audio transcription. Be mindful when hosting sessions where sensitive student information is discussed.
  • Review Summaries Before Sharing: While Zoom AI summaries can be a great tool, always review generated notes for accuracy before distributing them to students or colleagues.
