Welcome to Teams Phone at Evergreen.

This is your setup guide. Once you have completed the hardware and software checks below, proceed to our Using Teams Phone for a deep dive into making calls and managing voicemail.

Step 1: Check Your Eligibility

  • Audience: Faculty, Staff, and Student Employees.
  • Student Employees: Your manager determines eligibility. Note that access is tied to your Microsoft 365 license.

Step 2: Prepare Your Hardware

You don’t need a desk phone to stay connected. Teams Phone works on the devices you already have:

  • Laptops: Built-in microphones are supported.
  • Headsets: OIT issues a one-time wired headset upon request. Contact your manager if you require a wireless model.
  • Desk Phones: Reserved for special circumstances. The Teams App is our primary and most efficient calling method.

Step 3: Install & Sign In

To receive campus calls on your computer or mobile device:

  1. Download the Microsoft Teams App.
  2. Sign in with your Evergreen email and password.
  3. Mobile Users: Get the app from the Apple App Store or Google Play.

⚠️ Emergency (911) Information
  • On Campus: Your location is detected automatically via Wired or Wi-Fi.
  • Off Campus: You must manually set your location in the Calls tab to ensure emergency services can find you.
