How to write meaningful descriptive text.
To create a better experience for users, write meaningful link text that indicates the link's destination and/or provides a description of the content being linked to.
i.e. If you were to just see the link, would you know the web page it connects to?
For Example:
Accessibility Checklist by UW versus http://www.washington.edu/accessibility/checklist/.
Descriptive text for embedded videos
A YouTube link without descriptive text will appear like this on the page:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wFjMY9weYRA
A YouTube link that has had appropriate descriptive text applied will display like this on the page:
